Some Book Reviews

  • The Shining - Stephen King
  • I loved this book. I'm part of the crowd who isn't a fan of the film adaption of this book, largely because I don't think it does justice to the slow decline of Jack's character, nor the strength of Wendy's character. Not that I think it's a bad film, I think it's good, it's just not a good adaption - but I digress. I love this book due to how fleshed out each character is. As I've already said, I love the idea of buildings being sentient and malevolent, and the personification of the Hotel through Jack as the book goes on is honestly terrifying. The book is honestly so terrifying and thrilling, and I would recommend it to anyone.
